This information can assist with an asset audit, it can also help a company track where smaller assets have been assigned. There are a few options that can help with this in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Unified Operations.<\/p><p>One option is by utilising the location section which is the 4<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0section of the Fixed Asset card. This section utilises tables that pull from Human Resources or are in the Fixed Asset area itself (location). This allows you to give details on where the asset is physically located, what department it is in, and who is responsible for the asset.<\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/sisn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Finance-and-operations-equipment-tracking-with-location-1.png\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-102295 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/sisn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Finance-and-operations-equipment-tracking-with-location-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1240\" height=\"203\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sisn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Finance-and-operations-equipment-tracking-with-location-1.png 1240w, https:\/\/sisn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Finance-and-operations-equipment-tracking-with-location-1-300x49.png 300w, https:\/\/sisn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Finance-and-operations-equipment-tracking-with-location-1-1024x168.png 1024w, https:\/\/sisn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Finance-and-operations-equipment-tracking-with-location-1-768x126.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1240px) 100vw, 1240px\" \/><\/a><\/p><p>These fields are included in a standard report within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Unified Operations called the Fixed Asset physical inventory worksheet report. This report can be grouped by dimension, responsible organisation unit, responsible person, or the physical location. It provides basic information including the acquisition date and price, quantity of asset, and depreciation book.<\/p><p><em>Fixed Assets &gt; Enquiries and reports &gt; Fixed Asset physical inventory worksheet report<\/em><\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/sisn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Finance-and-operations-Fixed-Asset-physical-inventory-worksheet-report.png\"><img class=\"size-full wp-image-102301 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/sisn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Finance-and-operations-Fixed-Asset-physical-inventory-worksheet-report.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"746\" height=\"356\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sisn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Finance-and-operations-Fixed-Asset-physical-inventory-worksheet-report.png 746w, https:\/\/sisn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Finance-and-operations-Fixed-Asset-physical-inventory-worksheet-report-300x143.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 746px) 100vw, 746px\" \/><\/a><\/p><h3><strong>Lending:<\/strong><\/h3><p>But what happens when you have an asset that is moved to many people based on their need. For example, a laptop that is loaned to different departments for travel purposes only. Your company may need to know who has it today and who has had it.<\/p><p>There is a feature in Fixed Assets called Lending. This feature allows you to assign the asset to a person and location with an expected return date. Then once the asset is given back to the correct owner\/person responsible the actual return date can be updated. You can only lend the asset to one person at a time, which means you must return it before it can be lent to a new user.<\/p><p>To lend an asset out, go to the asset and under Fixed Assets, select<strong><br \/><em>Lend.<\/em><\/strong><\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/sisn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Finance-and-operations-Fixed-Asset-Lending-Tracking.png\"><img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-102303 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/sisn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Finance-and-operations-Fixed-Asset-Lending-Tracking.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"811\" height=\"452\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sisn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Finance-and-operations-Fixed-Asset-Lending-Tracking.png 811w, https:\/\/sisn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Finance-and-operations-Fixed-Asset-Lending-Tracking-300x167.png 300w, https:\/\/sisn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Microsoft-Dynamics-365-Finance-and-operations-Fixed-Asset-Lending-Tracking-768x428.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 811px) 100vw, 811px\" \/><\/a><\/p><p>This will open a new page where you can input the dates and employee information. This feature is useful when an asset is commonly distributed to multiple areas and details like expected return dates can benefit the team responsible for loaning it to others.<\/p><p><em>Fixed assets &gt;
